| How To | ![]() |

| Look for gene functions |
|---|
|
You can query for annotated gene function from the explored target regions that
Blast against the TIGR Wheat Gene Index.
The gene function search is case sensitive.
Type your query into the textbox that is identified when you click the link above, then click "Search Annotations".
The search will find any annotations that contain this term.
For example: "ribosom" will retrieve "ribomsomal".
|
| Look for polymorphisms |
|
You can query directly for a polymorphism target region if you know what est accession id or contig name it is mapped
with, or if you know where it is physically located by chromosome and/or genome, or if you know which lab did the
sequencing of that particular region.
If you prefer to browse through a visual representation of the wheat genome, simply click
ideograms here or above.
You can use any or all of the fields provided to refine your search. Note that restricting your search to a case
that does not exist in the database (for example: querying for a target region under a lab that did not explore
that region) may lead to no results being returned.
See general howto for a definition of a target region.
|
| Look for primers |
|
You can query directly for a given primer by all the same fields used to look up a polymorphism. Note that primers
are either "Conserved" or "Genome Specific", and that some have been successfully used to find a polymorphism target
region and others have not.
|
| Look for sequences |
|
You can query directly for the
sequences that were used to derive the polymorphism data.
It is also possible to browse these sequences beginning at the lab and drilling
down to plate, then line, then est accession number.
